Well, I have to say that the 2008 Sydney Biennale online venue (revolutionsonline) is a triumphant attempt at bringing the essence of the biennale to an online audience. Both the design of the site and the content are engaging, intriguing and extremely addictive judging by the several hours that I spent exploring and viewing. Another great feature of the online venue is the ability for anyone to suggest web links and projects for inclusion on the site which can be made here: http://www.bos2008.com/revolutionsonline/?page_id=4
To give you an idea of the sort of fantastic content you can find at the online venue I have selected my ten favourite revolutionsonline works. If you get the chance why don’t you add a comment with your favourite online venue work or suggest a link or project for inclusion. Happy exploring!!!

Only one and a half pages of that are Australian government bodies; this is a highly privatised operation – with one consequence being that this is one of the most impoverished biennales in the world – Chairman Luca Belgiorno-Nettis claiming that its budget for 2008 is matched by most of the single artist shows at curator CCB’s Turin art institution. so upfront, I must say that I assisted in the production of the online venue, but the majority of props must go to programmer and designer, the wonderful Mr Snow and to Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev. I was merely the conduit for exchange between these two and also exhibiting artists.
When developing a site like this, over a substantial period of time, you become quite good friends - with the website I mean. You nurture it - it challenges you, you argue with it - it breaks. Then you go about back-stepping until you find the point where it cracked, and look to fixing it up. Until you are back on track on reliable, solid ground and enjoying each others company again.
That said, i thought I’d share some of the reasons that we are friends… More
